Why we exist
There is too much noise in the system.
Baisics exists because there is too much noise in the system for people who just want to lead a healthy life and then get back to living it.
You've been programmed. Not by one app. Not by one influencer. By the whole machine. The before-and-afters. The streak counters. The meal plans that assume you have two hours on Sunday and a refrigerator that looks like a catalog shoot.
You're not broken. The model is.
The real enemy isn't laziness. It's the toxic mental model that says anything less than perfect is failure. Most health apps reinforce it every single day.
What we believe
Showing up is the whole game
Getting to the gym parking lot counts. Ten minutes instead of an hour beats quitting. Five logged days out of seven is a successful week. We are explicitly built against all-or-nothing thinking.
Bend, don't break
A well-built system doesn't crash when conditions aren't perfect — it bends, adapts, and keeps running. The clock doesn't strike midnight and turn you into a pumpkin. You can backlog. You can adjust. The system shapes around your life, not the other way around.
Deprogramming, not programming
Most apps add a system on top of someone's life. We remove the toxic mental models first — and the system that remains is simpler because of it. Before someone can build good habits, they may need to unlearn bad expectations.
The free tier is a promise
If it's core to their success, it's free. If it's convenient to their experience, it's paid. The person who never pays us a dollar should still be closer to their health goals after six months. That's the deal.
What Baisics is not
Knowing what we aren't is as important as knowing what we are.
Not a performance tracker. We are built for people optimizing long-term sustainability, not athletes chasing peak output.
Not a punishment system. No feature should make a user feel like a failure for living their life.
Not an influencer product. We don't sell aspirational transformation. We sell realistic maintenance and steady improvement.
Not a hovering coach. The app should feel like a good friend who checks in, not a boss who monitors.
Not a dark-pattern app. No forced upsell modals. No guilt-driven engagement loops. If a user wants to leave, we make it easy. If they want to stay, it's because we earned it.
A different voice
Same situations. Different responses.
| Situation | Them | Baisics |
|---|---|---|
| User misses 3 days | Streak reset. 0 days. | You missed a few days. Log them now to keep your streak alive. |
| User hits macros 5/7 days | No acknowledgment | 5 of 7 days — solid week. |
| User logs a vibe check only | Not a valid log | Counts. Full stop. |
| User's weight stalls | Try cutting 200 more calories | Sleep's been a 4, stress an 8 — the scale makes sense. This isn't a food problem. |
| User opens the app after 2 weeks | Welcome back! Start a new streak! | Things got busy — what changed? Let's adjust. |
| User can't see macros | Upgrade to Premium! | It's free. It was always going to be free. |
| User skips an upsell | Shows it again tomorrow | Gone. Respected. |
